Tibet was invaded by China in 1950 and has undergone a systematic destruction of it's culture and people.

Estimates which are hard to confirm, report that out of the 6 million population, 1.2 million have been killed, over 6,000 monastaries have been destroyed, and thousands of TIbetans have been imprisoned.

China has transferred low income Chinese citizens to the region and in some Tibetan provinces, Chinese settlers outnumber Tibetans 7 to 1.
